2011-11-01Assessing Priorities for Rio+20A proposal was written by Global2015 for the preparation of "Rio+20", the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, which will take place in June 2012. The proposal focuses on prioritizing the most urgent challenges that the world faces today, and identifying which issues have made the most progress and which have been neglected.

Report for the UN High-Level Meeting on AIDSGlobal2015 has created a report on HIV/AIDS in the Context of Other Global Challenges. The purpose of the report is to assist decision-makers in assessing priorities for appropriate action, taking into consideration global challenges interlinking with HIV/AIDS. Heads of government and the ambassadors at the UN were provided with the report, in regard to the High-Level Meeting on AIDS of the UN General Assembly (8-10 June 2011). This publication is the first of a Special Global Challenges Report series; the next will be on climate change, for the occasion of the UNFCCC conference in December 2011.

Survey Presented at WHO/SIGN ConferenceGlobal2015 was invited to present its Global Challenges Survey at the annual meeting of the Safe Injection Global Network (SIGN), which is hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO). 135 registered participants from 28 countries attended the conference, which lasted from the 9th to the 11th of November, 2010 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
Feedback on this first international presentation of the Global Challenges Survey was very positive, and several participants agreed to give expert reviews of the draft survey.
New estimates of the global burden of disease due to unsafe injections were also presented at the conference. With these estimates a trend in the safety of injections globally is visible for the first time - an improving one. These estimates will be taken into account in the next update of the Global2015 draft survey.

Special Edition for the UN MDG SummitA Special Edition of the Global Challenges Survey was created for the United Nations Summit on the Millennium Development Goals (High-Level Plenary Meeting of the UN General Assembly, 20-22 September 2010). The updated survey by Global2015 covers most of the Millennium targets as well as other important global challenges. Global2015 has provided the survey to world leaders and UN representatives, and will continue to monitor the most urgent global challenges to encourage further action.
